Owen's Bed

Bryce's Qualifier

Well, it is official. Bryce has passed his qualifier. Here are a few pictures of the completed set from A Midsummer Night's Dream that Bryce just finished. He had to write a proposal for the project, prepare all the preperatory paperwork (budgets, flowcharts, etc.), then engineer and oversee the building of the set. He did a good enough job (in my opinion a very good job) to be able to pass his qualifier (on his first try, which seems to be a novelty in this department). So now it is on to his Thesis project - A Secret Garden - to be built and performed this upcoming spring. . .

Sunday Drive

Since gas prices are back down below $3.00/gallon we splurged this Sunday and took a drive around the surrounding area. This is a picture of a road that is supposedly one of the roads that Abraham Lincoln traveled on to get to the Lincoln-Douglas debates way back when. It was a really pretty stretch of road, and although it doesn't look like the leaves are actually going to change before they fall from the trees here this year, it was still a nice fall afternoon and we enjoyed being able to take a break from all the stress and be able to enjoy the simple things in life.

Grandma Mary & Grandpa Tom Visit

Grandma Mary and Grandpa Tom came to visit this week. They arrived on Monday and left Wednesday Morning. We got to meet Tom and they got to meet Owen. It took a little while for Owen to get used to them, but after he did he had fun playing with his Grandma Mary.

Willow Tree Figurines

Bryce gave me a new Willow Tree Figurine for my Birthday. It is the second from the left - Angel of Light. Coincidentally, Bryce has given me the others over the past several years as well.
