Sunbeam
Owen had his first primary program yesterday. He was super cute and did a really good job remembering his part: "I can choose the right by sharing with my friends." I'm so proud of my cute little boy.

Talking to Daddy
MayLynn and Bryce have a lot of fun playing together. One of their favorite games is "try to catch the tongue." In this game, Bryce holds MayLynn and sticks out his tongue and she tries to catch it before he puts it back in his mouth. This game is fun to watch, but the result has been even more fun. A couple of days ago MayLynn figured out how to stick out her own tongue, and now she uses it as a way to get Daddy's attention . . . It's like she's saying: "Hi Daddy! Loot at me! I can stick out my tongue just like you."
Here it comes . . .
Half-way there . . .

Summer Projects
I was looking back at my blog and realized that I posted practically nothing for the month of August, so I have a lot of catching up to do. First of all, here are some projects that I completed this summer:
A set of blankets & burp rags for my friend, Stefani, who was blessed to be able to adopt a baby boy this summer. Thanks Leslie for helping me out with the embroidery & pre-edging hem on the blankets.
Here are the towels & hot-pads that I made for my sister-in-law's wedding gift. I hope they match your Fiesta Ware StacyAnn!
And finally, here's the project that I started last spring and finally finished - an afghan as a gift for my sister, Nita's, graduation. But since graduation was in May & her birthday is in November, it's ended up being a late-graduation-early-birthday present :). Love you Nita!

First Day of Preschool & Sitting Up
Today was Owen's first day of preschool. I managed to slow him down long enough to snap a couple of pictures with my cell phone. He was really excited and had a really good first day.
Also, MayLynn - who will be 6 months old this Thursday - is learning how to stay sitting up. She's quite a cute little girl.

Eoin Colfer - Author of Artemis Fowl
Yesterday Emily and I went to an author event at the St. Louis County Library. They were featuring Eoin Colfer the author of the Artemis Fowl books. It was a very fun presentation and I had fun being introduced to a series that I think I would enjoy reading and that Emily already enjoys. I also got to have fun spending time with my sister and getting to know her a little bit better.
After the presentation we got her book Artemis Fowl and the Last Guardian signed. We were able to snap a quick picture of Mr. Colfer while he signed her book. Thanks Emily for finding something fun for us to do during your visit!
